Goals

Dr. Acker wants to encourage other women to join the field, while recognizing that entering the academic world is harder now than it was when she was pursuing her Ph.D. She also wants to transform the way that we think about class, because she feels that people who we may have called middle class in the past are now under a tremendous deal of pressure. More specifically, she wants to reclaim the study of the economy by feminists. She wants to join feminists in other fields of study with economists to bring back economists back to an equal level with theory and discourse.
